Waiakoa Solo Hula

Aloha to everybody! Yesterday was the lastday of our show. It was 3 consecutive Saturdays for us. We were very busy with our dances, line ups formations of course including ironing, packing and unpacking the costumes in the suitscase. I was so relieved that the shows are over now and we can have a non stress lessons and we can head for the future shows. March 25 will volunteer show. May 16th will be in Kamakura Geijutsukan, June and July...August and September. The dance I did was "Waiakoa". Its a beautiful Music from Uluwehi Guererro/Album In My Heart. Talks about the beauty of the Waiakoa and how the peace landscape bring peace to thier hearts. The bird Manu sybolized the children of the composer remembering how they are laughing and have fun to hear them playing happy while the mother was hearing them with the joy in her heart. It comes that they are now far away, grew up and live in the place where they settled with thier own family and the mother thinking of them with strong longing, yearning and love for her children. She thinks of them as a bird nestling them with warm heart while they are small child and after they are ready to thier lives they are now with thier own family it becomes a sweet memories for her. This is one of my favorite mele (music) it always connect to me as the same feeling to the composer. Longing, yearning and missing for the family and love ones and friends. I am going to post this for the mean time to prepare for my lesson today. See later and have a nice Sunday.
